Following my Faith: A Cristo Rey Story

God leads where he wants you to go.

One day when I was leaving church, the school next door—Cristo Rey Newark High School—was having an open house. I always wanted to go to Catholic school to follow my faith. But, how could my parents afford tuition for four kids?

Cristo Rey Newark was the answer. Here, each student works one day a week to help pay our own tuition.

Cristo Rey Newark challenges me to be a leader, on the job and at school. Last summer I attended a leadership conference in Philadelphia with students from other Cristo Rey Network schools around the country. It introduced me to new ideas, and now, I’m developing a proposal to start a student council at Cristo Rey Newark so other students can have leadership opportunities, too.

Gifts from generous people like you are educating the leaders of tomorrow. Please consider a year-end gift to Cristo Rey Newark High School. If you’ve already made your gift to Cristo Rey, thank you very much for your support!

God definitely had a hand in leading me to Cristo Rey Newark. Now, I’m hoping he leads you to support the school that is so important to me and many other students.

Have a very Merry Christmas!
