Chris Alvarez joined the Cristo Rey Newark High School staff in 2015.

Dorothy Carola holds a bachelor's degree in religious studies and a master's in religious education, both from Fordham University. She started teaching at Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2010.
"I teach here because I feel strongly about righting the injustices and inequality often produced by urban education. Our rigorous curriculum and corporate work-study program help level the playing field for students who might never have imagined the level of success our school can help them achieve. I especially enjoy the challenge of helping young minds think in new ways and helping young people see new possibilities in themselves, both academically and spiritually."

A member of the Cristo Rey Newark High School staff since 2016, Ejike Enworom holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is certified as a Microsoft systems engineer/administrator (MCSE/MCSA), A+, CCNA and Network +.

Rev. Gregory Gebbia, OFM
Rev. Gregory Gebbia, OFM, holds an undergraduate degree from Quincy College, as well as master’s degrees from Catholic Theological Union and Fordham University. He also earned an Ed.S. from Seton Hall University. He joined Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2009.
“As an administrator, I am charged with the wonderful responsibility of providing instructional leadership to the school community. Setting a course for success for our students and helping them achieve their college aspirations gives me the joy of witnessing how lives are forever changed. The inspiration the students offer me is their ‘ganas,’ their passionate desire to make more of themselves, in spite of the challenges life has set before them.”

Marian Hobbie, PhD
Dean of Faculty Achievement
Dr. Marian Hobbie earned a bachelor's degree in secondary education from Fairleigh Dickinson University, master's degrees in elementary education and educational administration from Kean University, and a doctorate in philosophy from The Catholic University of America. She joined the Cristo Rey Newark High School staff in 2017.
"Cristo Rey Newark High School's mission of providing a quality, Catholic, college preparatory education to urban young people is exciting, but it's the caring relationships among students, teachers and staff that make this school unique. Our students inspire me because they are polite and friendly, and manage a challenging curriculum along with working one day each week. They do all this with a smile."

Pamela Hocutt has worked at Cristo Rey Newark High School since March 2017. She holds a master of public administration degree from Rutgers University.
Robert Kearns holds a bachelor's degree from Felician University, and a master's degree from Saint Peter's University. He has worked at Cristo Rey Newark High School since 2010.

Gregory Kornegay has taught at Cristo Rey Newark High School since 2009. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University. He is also the school's head bowling coach.

George W. Maize, IV
Music and Senior Exhibition Teacher
George W. Maize, IV earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Livingstone College and a master’s of pastoral ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He joined Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2016, and is now the choir director.

Rita McMann holds a bachelor's degree in liberal arts (history) from Florida Gulf Coast University and is pursuing a master's in English literature/creative writing at Seton Hall University. She joined the faculty at Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2017.

Lisa M. Papciak holds a bachelor's degree in interior design from Kean University, and joined the staff at Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2010. She is a 2013 Leadership Newark fellow.
"I love the culture of achievement that is woven into the fabric of this school. There is the expectation that every student will graduate from Cristo Rey Newark High School, and from college. Our students possess the grit and determination to make themselves better. They have the same hopes and dreams as other students, but must balance work, academics and extracurricular activities, so they need to work harder to achieve their goals."
Chris Paterek has worked at Cristo Rey Newark High School since 2011, and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Montclair State University.
"Cristo Rey Newark High School provides students with the ability to compare classroom learning with real life experiences through our corporate work-study program. Our students develop the skill to focus on both academics and work-study requirements, while actively participating in after school activities and athletics."
Brenda Pescoran holds a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in social work from Seton Hall University. A Cristo Rey Newark High School staff member since 2007, she coaches the girls volleyball team.
"I like to say that Cristo Rey Newark High School chose me. I came in as a college senior looking for volunteer work. Knowing that students get to work one day a week and get real work experience makes this school special. I love seeing the growth of the students over just one academic year."

Evelina Rodriguez earned an associate degree from Union County Community College and joined the Cristo Rey Newark High School staff in 2015. "Working with the students at Cristo Rey Newark High School has taught me many aspects of each one of them as individuals. They all have different personalities. Our students inspire me when they have a question or concern about their grades. That shows me how much they care about their future."
Elizabeth Rosario joined the staff at Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2008. She assists with Catholic Schools Week events, prom and fundraising for student events.
"I choose to work at Cristo Rey Newark High School to participate in making changes to students' lives, as well as to our city. Through our unique work-study program, our students mature and become responsible early on."

A Cristo Rey Newark High School staff member since 2011, Jacqueline C. Ross earned a bachelor's degree from Bridgewater College.

Rev. Robert J. Sandoz, OFM, came to Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2009 and calls his ministry at the school “the opportunity of a lifetime.” He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Saint Thomas, a master’s from Saint Louis University and a master’s degree in divinity from the Catholic Theological Union.

Margaret A. Sanzo degree holds a master's in pastoral counseling/spiritual direction and master's degree in divinity from ___________________. She joined the faculty at Cristo Rey Newark High School in 2014.
