Cristo Rey Network schools in the U.S.
Founded in 2007, Cristo Rey Newark High School is the only coeducational Catholic high school located in Newark, N.J. It is one of more than 37 schools that comprise the nationwide Cristo Rey Network of schools to provide high quality education to urban children whose families struggle financially.
Since opening its doors, Cristo Rey Newark High School has graduated more than 492 students and partnered with more than 60 public, private and nonprofit corporations to present the unique work study opportunities that are the hallmark of a Cristo Rey education. Among the school’s most significant recent accomplishments is the 100% college acceptance rate achieved by each of its nine classes, as well as the $10 million in scholarships earned by the Class of 2019, bringing the cumulative total to over $78 million.
